How do I change the batteries in my King Meter?

If you receive the error code "batt LU", that means the batteries in your King Meter need to be replaced. To do this, unscrew the two bolts on the bottom of the King Meter to remove it from your handlebars, then twist open the battery cover to replace the batteries. The type of battery used by the King Meter is a Panasonic CR 2032 3V.

Are there larger fenders available for my bike?

Fenders - Roadrunner LX Of course! We use Roadrunner LX mountain fenders. They are available for purchase from us at our online store.

What if my charger output doesn't read "Output 55VDC 2A"?

Under a normal 120 Volt power source, the charger output should read "Output 55VDC 2A". If the charger output reads greater than or less than 55, it means that the output of the power source is greater than or less than 120V respectively. A slight difference in the number is no problem and the battery should charge normally. If you are experiencing a problem while trying to charge your bike, please consult the Troubleshooting section of your instruction manual on page 20 or email us at contact@greenlightcycle.com or call our office at (604)-639-0059 (toll free: 1-(855)-476-7933) between the hours of 10:00am – 4:00pm Pacific, Tuesday – Friday.

How fast can I go on the Urban Ryder™/Cruzer™?

Max speed

The default setting on the top riding speed is set to 32 km/hour or 20 mph. The top riding speed can be set from 10 km/hour to 32 km/hour by using the UP and DOWN arrows. The top riding speed in Canada is 32 km/hour (20 mph in the US) in all cities, streets and highways. Do not exceed the top riding speed of 32 km/hour as you will be breaking the E-bike speed limit law and putting yourself and others in danger, which may result in prosecution, severe injury or death.

Where can I get my bike serviced?

WrenchMost bike service shops will perform maintenance on the mechanical aspects of e-bikes only. Additionally, some shops will service a specific brand of E-bike only. Unless they specifically work with electric bikes, they won't be able to perform service on things like the battery, wiring or computer system, so it would be best to call and check if they will service an e-bike before going into the shop. If you experience a problem with any of the electrical components, feel free to email us at contact@greenlightcycle.com or call our office at (604)-639-0059 (toll free: 1-(855)-476-7933) between the hours of 10:00am – 4:00pm Pacific, Tuesday– Friday and one of our technicians can assist you.>

24 Motor hall signal – This error is often a result of a connection error between the motor and controller. Check to see if all plugs are connected properly or have been damaged.

Will I fit on an Urban Ryder™/Cruzer™?

There are a number of ways to get the right saddle height. A good way of doing it is to sit on the bike with both feet on the pedals – get a friend to help or lean against a wall. Place your pedals in the 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock position. Your bottom leg should be fully extended when the heel is placed on the lower pedal. If your knee is bent too much, you need to raise the saddle. If you are struggling to reach the pedal and cannot keep your hips steady, then lower the saddle. You can also tell if the saddle is too high if you find you are sitting on the narrow front part of the saddle – although this could also be related to saddle tilt.

The idea is that when you correctly position your foot on the pedal your knee is just slightly bent at the bottom of the rotation. Also, make sure you don't raise the seat post beyond the recommended height as it could become unstable and even break off when riding.

The seats of our Urban Cruzers™ can be adjusted from a minimum height of 863 mm (34 inches) to a maximum height of 977 mm (38.5 inches) from the seat to the ground. From the seat to the pedal, the minimum height is 774 mm (30.5 inches) and the maximum height is 876 mm (34.5 inches).

On Urban Ryders™, the seats can be adjusted from a minimum height of 949 mm (37.4 inches) to a maximum height of 1069 mm (42.1 inches) from the seat to the ground. From the seat to the pedal, the minimum height is 787 mm (31 inches) and the maximum height 914 mm (36 inches).

How long does it take to charge the battery?

E-Bike - Battery Pack and Charger

A full charge will take approximately 4 to 6 hours to complete. Avoid overcharging and damaging the battery. When the light on the charger changes to a steady green, the charger is in "trickle mode". Avoid prolonged charging in this mode as it may damage the battery. Maximum continuous charging time is 10 hours.

In what weather conditions can I take my bike out?

Rain cloud Snow icon

The Urban Ryder™ and Urban Cruzer™ E-bikes are designed to be water resistant. Components are stainless, preventing the chance of rust. The E-bikes can be ridden in light rain or damp riding conditions, but we recommend against riding them in heavy rains and through deep puddles. Do not submerge your bike in water as water will seep into openings and cause damage to electrical components. If you absolutely must ride in heavy rainfall, we recommend taking extra precautions to protect electrical components and connections from getting wet. We highly recommend that you wipe down and clean your bike after riding in the rain.

We recommend caution for riding in the snow as the salt on the ground reacts with the aluminum of the wheels and can cause it to rust.
